MDAS POS
Privacy Policy
MDAS POS is a point-of-sale app provided by Marathon Myanmar Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us”). It lets businesses using MDAS sell at the counter on web, Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple App Store). This policy explains what information the app collects, how we collect and use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at hello@marathonmyanmar.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. The name, username and sign-in details of the salesperson account your business creates for you.
- Business and sales data. Products, prices, stock, customers and sales that your business records in the app, including the payment method and amount of each sale.
- Customer details your business enters. If a sale is made to a named customer, the details your business keeps for that customer, such as name and phone number.
- Device and technical data. Device model, operating system, app version and error logs, used to keep the app working and to fix problems.
- Camera. Only if you allow it, to scan barcodes. The camera is used only to read the barcode; we do not keep the camera images.
- Storage and photos. Only if you allow it, to save invoices as PDF files and images to your device’s storage or photo library. We use this access only to save the files you choose; we do not collect, upload or read your other photos or files.
How we collect information
- From your business, when it creates your salesperson account and sets up MDAS.
- From you, when you sign in and record sales in the app.
- Automatically from your device, for technical data needed to run the app.
Permissions and your consent
The app asks before using the camera, storage or photo library. You can allow or withdraw each permission at any time in your device settings (on iPhone and iPad: Settings > MDAS POS; on Android: Settings > Apps > MDAS POS > Permissions). Without camera access you can still find products by searching or tapping them. Without storage or photos access you can keep selling, but cannot save invoices to the device.
How we use information
- To sign you in and run the app for your business.
- To sync sales, stock and payments with your business’s MDAS back office.
- To keep accounts secure and prevent misuse.
- To provide support and fix errors.
No tracking or advertising
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. The app does not contain third-party advertising.
Offline storage
So the counter can keep selling without internet, the app stores the product catalogue and any unsynced sales on your device. Unsynced sales are uploaded to MDAS when the connection returns.
Invoice PDFs and images you save stay on your device and may include customer and sale details. They are under your control: you can share them or delete them at any time, and deleting the app does not remove files already saved to your storage or photo library.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Data in the app is visible to authorised users of your business’s MDAS account, according to the roles your business sets. We share information only with service providers who host and operate MDAS for us, or when required by law. These providers may use the information only to provide their services to us and must protect it to the same standard as this policy.
Security
Data is sent between the app and MDAS over encrypted connections, and access is limited by account and role. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Retention and deletion
We keep data for as long as your business uses MDAS, or as needed for legal, tax and accounting purposes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Deleting your account. Salesperson accounts are created by your business. To delete your account and its personal data, ask your business administrator or email hello@marathonmyanmar.com with your name, business and username. We will confirm the request and delete the account. Sales records your business must keep for accounting may be retained without your personal details.
You can also ask us to access or correct your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing us.
Children
MDAS POS is a business tool and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
